Kenya
“The views were immensely wide.
Everything that you saw made for greatness and freedom,
and unequalled nobility.” Karen Blixen, Out of Africa
Kenya is the original home of safari, abounding with game
and, for a few short months a year, host to the Migration,
the ‘Greatest Gameshow on Earth’, as herds of
wildebeest head north from the plains of the Serengeti,
across the Mara River.
With the Great Rift Valley carving a deep scar in the landscape,
from Lake Turkana (known as the Jade Sea) in the north,
to the flamingo fringed soda Lake Natron in the south, Kenya
has some of the most majestic scenery on the continent.
Known equally for its wonderful coastline as it is for
the huge variety and abundance of wildlife, Kenya has some
of finest palm-fringed beaches and most secluded lodges
in the Indian Ocean.
